Regal Electronics announces its new line of Mini and Micro USB connectors
San Jose, CA – Regal Electronics announces its new line of Mini and Micro USB connectors, available in A, B and AB type configurations.
The Mini USB is the small USB socket found on digital cameras, external hard drives, USB hubs and other equipment. The Mini-B plug and socket are all that remain of the USB Mini connectors after the Mini-A plug and Mini-AB socket were superseded by USB On-The-Go aka OTG.
The Micro USB is the very small USB port found on cell phones and other portable devices may have a Micro-B socket. Considerably smaller than the USB Type B sockets on printers and scanners, the Micro-B socket is half the thickness of the Mini-B socket found on digital cameras. Micro-A plugs and Micro-AB sockets are the standard connectors for USB On-The-Go aka OTG.
